In the fall of 2005 He purchased his first semi-professional camera and started seriously videoing hunts. His show currently has a regional viewership of over 748,000 households in Wi. and surrounding states.

For 2010 Chris is planning to take the show to the next level and air on the Pursuit Channel.

Troy Spooner
"Public Land Pro"

Troy Spooner first took to the woods with a bow and arrow at the age of eight. His endeavors started much like any other kid, stalking chickadees, sparrows, chipmunks and woodchucks, but quickly turned to larger game, namely – the “whitetail deer”. He spent countless hours following tracks and learning about deer behavior and hunted hard for six seasons before he actually took his first buck.

Since that first success, he has hunted whitetail, mule deer, elk, bear, antelope and various predatory species all across the U.S. and Canada exclusively on “public-lands”. He admits, “I gave the guided hunts a shot and didn’t enjoy the experiences. They just weren’t me”. So, he now hunts self-guided on all of his excursions which have taken him from his home state of Michigan to destinations which include Colorado, Wyoming, North Dakota, Illinois, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, New Mexico, Maine and Ontario.

He has taken Pope & Young Whitetail and Pope & Young Black Bear on do-it-yourself hunts on hard-hunted public-land in Michigan. He has taken a total of nine bucks that all score over 130-inches from the pressured public-lands. He hunts both the overcrowded public-lands in southern Michigan and the vast wilderness public areas of the Upper Peninsula and Ontario. His tactics all revolve around three basic ideals, hard work, common sense and no shortcuts. In a nutshell, “you get out of it - what you put into it!”

When not in the woods chasing whitetails, he can be found at his desk putting his experiences down on paper as a freelance outdoor writer. His works have appeared in publications such as North American Whitetail, Big Buck Magazine, Michigan Out-of-Doors Magazine, Michigan Sportsman,Bowhunter Magazine, Woods–N-Waters News, Illinois Game & Fish, Bowhunter Magazine, Deer & DeerHunting’s Little Book of Big Bucks and this past season he was appointed as a Prostaff Member of Midwest Whitetail Michigan where he appeared on several episodes, one in which he manages to take a hog-bodied 140-class eleven point on video while hunting public-land in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

His deliberate strategizing and planning not only helps him succeed on a regular basis in the deer woods, but he also uses the same drive and enthusiasm to assist his clients at his Professional Financial Practice. He is a Registered Representative of VIP Financial Advisors, Inc. and regularly conducts public lectures, giving advice on investment strategies, retirement planning and minimizing risk while maximizingportfolio growth.

He is a dedicated family-man, father of three, Christian and adept outdoorsman. He is proficient with traditional equipment and also with modern equipment, oftentimes switching back and forth, choosing the weapon that best suits the situation. He dreams of one day penning books on “Public-Land Whitetails” and “D.I.Y. Wilderness Bucks”. He hopes to bring fresh ideas to the forum and shed some light on “reality” hunting, while at the same time “myth-busting” much of the falsehoods we are often lead to believe.

Scott Shawl
"Pressured Whitetails"

Scott Shawl is a lifelong Great Lakes State resident that began his hunting career in the public land cedar swamps of northern Michigan- the fourth generation of his family to do so. At age twelve, the first year he could legally bow hunt, he shimmied up a tree and took a buck with his recurve bow- despite having no tree stand, tree steps, or bow sight. Since then Scott has expanded his hunting to the extra-heavy pressure public land in Mid-Michigan, state and national forests of Michigan ’s Upper Peninsula, and the wilds of Ontario , Canada . Scott is a public land, do-it-yourself specialist that has never been privy to a lease, or outfitted hunt for deer.

Scott is a Paramedic Supervisor that has worked for Mid Michigan Medical Center for the past 27 years. He began his EMS career by attending a local college for Emergency Medical Technician training at the age of 15. That same year he received his State license and began working on the local volunteer ambulance. He followed that up by becoming a state licensed Paramedic as a teenager. He currently serves on the Region 3 Bio-Terrorism Defense Network, hospital committees, and is charged with coordinating PR activities for Mid Michigan Medical Center EMS. Scott has organized and executed various marketing and volunteer campaigns to promote community awareness and involvement. He has been interviewed for newspaper articles as well as appeared on local television stations on issues ranging from healthcare to community projects and millage proposals.

Scott earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Davenport University . He and his wife Alicia have one child: Cassidee, age 16. Scott’s greatest hobbies and passions include hunting and fishing. His birth gift on the day he was born was a fishing rod and reel. He is also a pro staff member for Stealth Outdoors and actively shares his sportsman knowledge through hunting forums and outdoor hunting and fishing shows. Scott and his family reside in Michigan with regular trips to the Canada region.

Bryan Bergmann
"Taxidermy"

Bryan grew up in southeastern WI. He went to college at UW Oshkosh and then graduate school at the University of Kansas.

He hunts mostly in southern Wisconsin but occasionally gets to the northern part of the state.

Bryan loves to bow hunt and gun hunt for deer and turkeys.

No one in Bryan’s family hunted. He didn’t start hunting until he was 26 and learned a lot on his own through trial and error. His biggest hunting accomplishments are his bow buck from 2009, a couple of 2.5 year olds from public land, and a nice spring turkey with a bow (24.5 lbs., 10.5” beard, spurs were 1 1/8”, 7/8”).

He has been doing taxidermy for 10 years, and competing for 6 years. He is self taught but the seminars and critiques at competitions have allowed him to continually improve his work. Bryan’s biggest accomplishments in taxidermy have been earning blue ribbons in the professional/open division for whitetails and blue ribbons in the commercial division with whitetails and black bears at annual Wisconsin Taxidermist Association competitions in Green Bay, WI.

Mike Foss
"Bear Pro"

Born and raised in the North woods of Washburn Wisconsin. Started hunting at age 12, taught by his father, an avid hunter and fisherman. At age 9 he chased my first of many bears on foot, yes he ran after them anytime they would come into "his" yard to check out the grill or fish cleaning table down by the dock. I think that's what started Mikes fascination with bears. Mike is now owner and guide to one of the most sought after bear hunting guide services (Zone D) in Wisconsin "Northern Wisconsin Outfitters". Up until the snow flys and then some, He is constantly scouting, tracking, learning, and searching for big bears for his clients. Mike is also an outdoor writer for a magazine called "On Wisconsin Outdoors" the magazines can be picked up for free at all Gander Mountain and local sporting good stores throughout Wisconsin. You can follow Mikes stories "Diary of a Bear Guide" and see if he finally gets the 700+lb monster bear of Bayfield County that he and his clients have tried to kill for several seasons, "Snaggle Tooth".Just about every year I hear about one or two of his clients killing a monster bear. I really look forward to Mikes hard core tactics in our DVD's and on our forum.

Greg Lease was raised in Northern Minnesota and grew up chasing big woods deer, bear and South Dakota pheasants. Greg later spent some years in Western Montana guiding elk, deer, bear and mountain lion and it is here he realized how much he loved real wilderness. Greg is now a resident of Central Minnesota, just West of the Twin Cities, and finds his "wilderness" in the vast public marsh's near his home. Greg still takes trips out West to quench his thirst for that part of the country but, according to Greg, there's nothing like outsmarting a good'ol public land swamp buck in the marsh.
